2008 Geneva Motor show

雖然沒有錢可以飛到現場去看,不過上網欣賞一下照片也不錯啦,起碼可以過過乾癮,哈~以下幾台車是我在網路上找到的一些簡單介紹資料,大家就加減看吧~

1.Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4
Lamborghini has unveiled a major revision of their ‘entry-level’ Gallardo. Now dubbed the Gallardo LP560-4, the four-wheel drive supercar has a slightly more angular bodyshape, a new 5.2 litre V10, less weight and an inevitable boost in power and performance (although the company is quick to point out that emissions have also fallen, despite the hike in power). The car’s freshly honed lines follow Lamborghini’s ongoing commitment to faceted, aggressive forms, as seen on last year’s limited edition Reventón supercar.

2.Alfa Romeo 8C Spider
Alfa Romeo’s 8C Competizione became a cult car long before the first customer even got behind the wheel. All 500 cars were instantly sold out, guaranteeing the model’s place in the automotive pantheon. Unsurprisingly, Alfa want to eke out the adulation for just a little longer, so the company is also building 500 Spider models, a drop top version of this sublimely beautiful V8. Prospective purchasers will have to act quickly if they want to secure a coveted place in the sun.

3.Mercedes SL
Mercedes-Benz used Geneva to unveil a late-life facelift for its iconic SL. With an all-new model on the way at the start of the next decade, the folding hardtop's front and rear has been sharpened up in line with the company's current design language. There's also a new flagship, the SL65, developed by the company's AMG division to push the model to new heights of performance. Thanks to countless years of development, the SL range has spent much of its life in a class of its own. Today, there are plenty of manufacturers trying to muscle in on Mercedes' turf, but the new model is back on top of the game.

4.Saab 9-X BioHybrid
As the sustainability debate hots up, and motor manufacturers strive to outdo each other with ever more efficient technology, certain character traits are emerging. While Toyota and Lexus have a monopoly on hybrids - thanks to their early, loss-leading, entry into the marketplace, Saab staked a claim on biofuel expertise before almost anyone else, thanks in part to Sweden’s wide - and heavily subsidised - network of filling stations. The 9-X BioHybrid concept builds upon design ideas the company has been kicking around for the last decade. A relatively compact car - the form of which should resurface as the upcoming 9-1 model - the concept aims for maximum efficiency by paring its biofuel powerplant with the latest version of parent company GM's hybrid system. The interior incorporates the latest round of Sony-Ericsson's in-car Bluetooth-driven technology, while the wraparound windscreen and minimal detail should find favour with the company’s design-savvy buyers.

5.Rinspeed sQUBA
Frank M. Rinderknecht thrives on his visionary image; each year, he uses Geneva as a showcase for his latest automotive obsession. The past few years have all seen an aquatic theme, one that's now been taken to its watery limits. The Rinspeed sQuba is billed as the first car that functions as well below the waves as on the road. Inspired by The Spy Who Loved Me's submersible Lotus Esprit, Rinderknecht has taken a modern Lotus Elise and retro-fitted it for underwater action, with help from a host of technical partners (and a driver and passenger who doesn't mind donning breathing apparatus when the open-topped car slips beneath the waves).

6.Bentley Continental GTZ
Bentley is striving for business as usual despite the climate of change threatening to make their market niche obsolete. Nonetheless, a three-pronged ‘environmental strategy’ was announced at Geneva, the crux of which is a push towards using renewable, flex-fuel engines across the fleet by 2012. The engineers at Crewe know full well that biofuel delivers far more power than conventional fuels, a good way to retain Bentley’s traditional shove. There’s also talk of an all-new powertrain to replace the ageing V8 at the heart of the company’s most upmarket cars. Meanwhile, the Italians have been busy creating a unique version of the Continental GT. Known at the GTZ, the hefty coupé is firmly in the tradition of the grand coachbuilt cars of old, mixing Zagato design cues into the now familiar fastback form, including two-tone coachwork, a double bubble' roof and slender rear lights. It’s likely to make very limited production if enough interest is shown from Zagato's select group of enthusiastic collectors.

7.Spyker C8 Aileron
Dutch supercar makers Spyker have had a trying year, with financial woes and cancelled models. Founded in 1999 - taking the name of an original company responsible for royal coachbuilding - Spyker Cars excels at making finely finished and eccentrically detailed machines. The Aileron, their latest model, is a natural evolution of the original Audi-powered C8 model, slightly lengthened and - in the company's own words - 'de-blinged' to reflect the sobering mood of their customer base. The additional length gives the car graceful proportions (reminiscent of the sadly abandoned Zagato-designed C12 model), while inside quilted red leather upholstery shows the company hasn't lost any of its idiosyncratic touches.

8.Volkswagen Scirocco
Volkswagen’s new Scirocco was not a surprise, but the sleek Golf-based coupe is an important car nonetheless. The revival of a famed name from the mid 1970s, the Scirocco’s basic form first broke cover in the shape of 2006’s Iroc concept. The road to production has involved smoothing over a few of more outlandish forms, and the new car - due on sale in late 2008 - is more than just slightly squatter, sleeker Golf. With a shape overseen by VW's chief designer Klaus Bischoff, the Scirocco has ditched the creases of the Giugiaro-designed original in favour of a discrete, low-slung four-seater form that should find favour with style conscious, sporting drivers.

9.Pininfarina Sintesi
Perhaps the most successful styling exercise at this year's show, Pininfarina showed a masterful touch with their Sintesi, a four-seater that explored the new forms available to designers thanks to new propulsion technologies. Pininfarina call this 'liquid' packaging, as to the distribution of fuel cells around the passenger compartment frees up interior space for new technology, extra space and sculptural forms that extend the exterior style. Now we just need someone to build it.

10.BMW Vision EfficientDynamics
Essentially an X5 Hybrid, the Vision EfficientDynamics concept gives some clues as to how BMW think they can minimize the impact of their top-end SUV. The 4-cylinder engine makes the most of every last millilitre of diesel, while ensuring that CO2 emissions are as scrubbed clean as can be. The final figure - 172 g/km - is a distinct improvement on the segment’s usual performance, thanks to hybrid power, regenerative braking, aerodynamic excellence and a set of roof-mounted solar cells. The details make all the difference. Production cars with similar technology should hit the showrooms soon.

11.MINI John Cooper Works
John Cooper is a legendary name in the history of the original Mini, an aftermarket specialist who gave his name to the sportiest and most desirable model of all, the Cooper S. As soon as BMW revived the brand, the model name also returned. However, the more eager enthusiast can now specify the John Cooper Works model, freshly announced for the Mk2 model MINI. Tuning and styling enhancements give the car exceptional performance, as well as help mark it out from the increasingly MINI-crowded marketplace.

12.Italdesign Giugiaro Quaranta
Italdesign Giugiaro was another celebrated Italian name with a conceptual debut, highlighting Geneva’s role as a showcase for new work from over the Alps. The Quaranta continued the show’s homage to the late 1960s and early 1970s, with a wedge-shaped body that explicitly referenced the studio’s 1968 Bizzarrini Manta model. Intended as a four-wheel drive sports car that combines hybrid drive and solar energy (still a stretch for automotive production), the low-slung machine is designed for three adults and a child. Taking its powerplant from Toyota certainly helps the car’s credibility, and while the minimal styling might not be to everyone's taste, the retro-future look is here to stay.

13.Maserati GranTurismo S
We’ve already raved about Maserati’s GranTurismo, one of the finest four-seaters currently on sale. The standard GranTurismo is certainly no slouch, but inevitably, someone, somewhere wants a little bit more. Maserati hope to sate demand for high-end performance with the new ‘S’ model, uprated and enhanced with subtle additions to that svelte Pininfarina-designed bodywork and more power from the car’s fine V8.

14.Fioravanti Hidra
FIORAVANTI HIDRA Fioravanti operate on the outfield of concept car design. While the company itself develops folding roof systems for the likes of Ferrari, its concepts explore new forms to suit new technologies. This year’s Hidra concept is a sleeker development of last year’s Thalia, and includes new innovations like the ‘Geyser’ system, a way of improving aerodynamics by eliminating conventional, drag-inducing windscreen wipers in favour of alternating jets of water and air, keeping windows clean at all times. To celebrate the design house’s 20th anniversary, the studio also showed the Alfa Romeo Vola, a drop-top study that hints at the next-generation of the venerable Spider line.
